Facelift combined with necklift and rhinoplasty to make the nose more elegant and feminine |
| A Rhytidectomy, more commonly referred to as a facelift, is a major aesthetic surgery performed to remove excess, loose, or sagging skin from the face and neck along with tightening the supporting tissues. A facelift requires operative incisions and surgical stitching. It improves the appearance of facial skin and assists in restoring tone and texture for a more youthful look. The Facelift is usualluy performed under General Anesthesia and can require a two to three week recovery.
Contrary to some non-medical reports and articles, remember, a facelift does not remove all the folds and wrinkles of the face, regardless of the treatment used. Cosmetic surgery can only remove skin from the facial areas that will safely benefit your facial features. In combination with a facelift, other procedures may be performed to enhance the face such as; eyelid surgery, forehead lift, rhinoplasty, facial bone augmentation and laser skin resurfacing.
How long will a facelift last? Results vary for each individual. Considerations include: patient's age and health condition, condition of the skin and the procedures performed.

A procedure with patented Contour Threads is a safe, conservative and effective one that offers subtle, natural looking results. These specially designed sutures are fashioned from clear polyproplene, a material that has been safely used in the body for years in other medical products. By gently shifting sagging tissues in an upward direction, this technique allows the surgeon to produce a relaxed, fresh appearance while preserving and enhancing the natural contours of your face. This procedure does not replace a conventional facelift; rather it offers patients an innovative, minimally invasive approach.
The procedure is quick and can be done under local anesthesia, but usually a light intravenous sedation is administered. The actual length of time will depend on the number of threads used. Typical procedure time is approximately one hour.
In most cases, there is minimal discomfort, bruising and swelling. Ice compresses are recommended for the first 24-48 hours. Patients can usually return to work or normal activities in a few days to a week.
A Contour Thread lift can be a stand alone procedure or combined with other procedures. It is not uncommon to have this procedure combined with Botox to reduce facial muscle activity, dermal fillers such as Restylane, or laser therapy to improve skin texture.
